HIKMICRO Launches Cutting-Edge Water Leak Detection System for Enhanced Safety and Efficiency

HIKMICRO, a company specializing in thermal imaging solutions, has developed an innovative water leak detection system that integrates thermal imaging with acoustic detection. This dual-method approach is designed to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of locating leaks across different environments. By utilizing this technology, users can minimize the need for intrusive groundwork and reduce potential water damage through quicker identification of problems. Water leaks can often remain concealed, leading to significant water waste and structural damage over time.

Traditional detection methods, such as manual inspections and pressure testing, are often time-consuming and invasive. HIKMICRO’s new system addresses these challenges by using its B20S thermal imaging camera to identify potential leak areas, followed by the AD21P acoustic detector for precise leak location. This allows users to visualize temperature variances on surfaces without the need for digging or extensive manual investigation. The B20S camera is equipped with a NETD < 40 mK VOx detector and SuperIR image enhancement, providing utilities professionals and estate managers with clear visual indicators of leaks, even in difficult-to-access areas such as beneath floors and behind walls.

The AD21P acoustic leak detector features the ‘SuperDetect’ algorithm, which analyzes acoustic intensity and spatial characteristics to differentiate between noise patterns, significantly easing the detection process for operators, even those with limited training. For more experienced users, the AD21P device includes a ‘Quick Inspection Mode’ while novice staff can utilize a ‘Route Inspection Mode’ that offers real-time feedback during inspections. The device provides visual data in the form of figures and charts, ensuring both professional and inexperienced users can effectively identify leaks. The acoustic detection capabilities extend across a frequency range of 150 Hz to 7500 Hz, utilizing four band-pass filters to filter out environmental noise.

The rechargeable device is built to last, with a battery life of 11 hours and water resistance rated at IP66. Additionally, it features a 7-inch display and can store up to 60,000 images on its 4GB internal memory, with outputs available on PC. HIKMICRO also backs its products with a two-year warranty for added assurance.
